Epicure
I've been lucky enough to be getting about and eating some great food and drinking at a few great bars...

In city square- it was pretty busy for after week drinks on Friday, but once it settled down it was really great. PLUS they had two types of gourmet ciders (okay so one of them was Bulmer's- ie imported Magner's, but the other one was def flashy).
Manchester Lane Jazz Bar
I don't know...a bit flashy for me, but still nice.
Tazio Pizzeria Birraria Cucina
This place was great! I found it is the Cheap Eats guide, and didn't think that it would be that awesome. But (and this is a big call for me) I think the pizza was actually better than Bimbos! Really really nice, and not that exxy.

So I've decided that Saturdays are my day off to relax and have a bit of a treat, so after going to the markets I've been having brekky with Luce. This was my first flashy breakfast. Its right near the South Melbourne markets and it was really nice. I think it started my South Melbourne/Southbank love affair...there are a few other places that we have to go back and try out too.
Replete Providore
This is on Barkers Road near my place and it had three (the most you can have) stars in the Cheap Eats guide. I went there a few times to grab a coffee and muffin while I was on my study days, and it seemed okay. But when I went for breakfast it definitely went from okay and quirky to pretty awesome. I tried to go back this weekend, but we would have had to wait ages for a table....Busy is good.
Montague Park Food Store
Another South Melbourne place. Probably my favourite of all the brekky places I've been to so far. Luce had french toast and I had porridge (my current breakfast obsession) and both were really great.
Isa Brown
This was where we went when we were going to have to wait to get into Replete, and it was definitely satisfactory, but not as awesome or gourmet as the other places.
