Home is where the heart is...
I sometimes have a bit of trouble coming up with a reflex answer to the question: So, where are you from? But this morning, as I drove away from 1 Mathias Avenue, Cumberland Park, Adelaide I definitely felt like that is home. I've never stayed there for more than a few nights, I don't have a bed let alone a bedroom, but that is where my whole family is now, and I felt quite sad to leave.
So this weekend was a super fast Adelaide visit. Fly in Saturday morning, drive out Sunday (in my Corolla!!). It was great, I think that Adelaide is one of Australia's best kept secrets (especially from Melbourne people, who just don't get it!)...
So the weekend:
- Getting to the airport and meeting my new car. Thanks Dad! You did such a wonderful buy, and thanks so much for cleaning it all up, carpetcleaning the interior and servicing for me!
- A haircut. I was almost going to fly home just for this purpose. Our (all the girls in my family love her) hairdresser always does a great job and goes right through the styling process. She talked me into a new Barbie doll pink hairdryer/hairstraightener combo that was on special. I gave them a quick test run and they are awesome (my first straightener).
- Lunch with Mon and Mum at Marmalade. Yum- the focaccia's there are great.
- Spa and cider with Mon and Hayley + gossip. A spa above your body temperature is the best way to relax
- Just chilling at home, if even only for a few hours
- Woodfire Oven pizzas. Gourmet. Made in our backyard. What more could you ask for! Better than the focaccias I had for lunch!
- Breakfast with John at A Perfect Cup on King William. Also very yum.
